Residents in Douglas and Peel share their thoughts
Residents in Douglas and Peel have been reacting to the news that the capital has been granted city status.
It's one of eight new cities announced as part of the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations.
For the first time local authorities in crown dependencies and overseas territories were invited to compete.

Meanwhile, there's been a mixed reaction to the news in Peel - which also submitted an application, but was unsuccessful.
The western town known locally as 'sunset city' has a cathedral, which for a long time was a requirement for city status - though it stopped being so in the 19th century.
