It will take 88 people off housing list and cost £11m to build
Douglas Council says its new social housing development in Willaston is 'everything' it wants to achieve in one building.
The local authority has spent £11 million on the new apartment block which has 48 flats and will take roughly 88 people off its waiting list.
The council also says the building is fully insulated with solar panels on the roof and are expected to be 'mould proof'.
Chair of the Housing Committee Peter Washington believes the new apartments will help keep residents, who've lived in Willaston for nearly 50 years, within their communities and 'support networks'.
