
Advice as microchipping laws come in
It's hoped a move to have all dogs in the Island microchipped will help reduce the rate of lost pets.
The painless procedure, which can be carried out by any vet, became compulsory here - including for working dogs - at the start of the month.
It replaces the traditional dog licence.
Owners now have until 1 October to get their animals microchipped, after which failing to do so could lead to a fine of £500.
