Police stamp out backyard bonfire
Police had to intervene after a homeowner tried to torch a pile of garden waste.
Officers were made aware of attempts to light a bonfire outside a property in the north of the Island yesterday.
It is not against the law to burn rubbish - but police say they had to talk the individual out of doing it as the fire could easily have got out of control.
