£12,000 raised for renovations
£12,000 has been donated to repair South Douglas Old Friends Association's roof.
The money was handed over by the Manx Lottery Trust to members for renovations to Victory Hall roof following the discovery of rotting timber and asbestos.
The association was also forced to raise an additional £5,500 to pay for it.
Representative Suzanne Lowey says they've struggled to complete the works with 'one thing after another' holding up the project.
Works were delayed to protect birds nesting on the roof - but are now complete.
