Bill still waiting to be passed after more than a year
Committing domestic abuse still isn't an offence on the Island.
The Domestic Abuse Act of 2020 is still yet to be brought into action by the Department of Home Affairs, despite first being presented in government over a year ago.
At the moment, offenders can only be charged with related crimes like assault or criminal damage.
