New bill to have first reading later this year
A domestic abuse campaigner on the Isle of Man, wants to see strangulation seen more seriously in law.
Tamasin Wedgwood has recently returned from a domestic abuse conference in Wales which was led by survivors.
A new bill designed to better deal with such crimes is set to have its first reading in Tynwald this October or November.
One aspect of abuse is strangulation, which Ms Wedgwood says she's been campaigning about for some time:
