Temporary lights operated by private company
The Department of Infrastructure has tweeted after receiving reports of multiple delays around the traffic lights at Glashen Hill on the A5 Castletown to Douglas.
It says the lights are managed by a private developer, not the Department, and are in place to facilitate works on the adjacent housing project.
The Department adds it has liaised with the lighting contractor and established that the lights are set for the maximum ”green” times and adapt to the flow of traffic through use of Doppler radar.
It's understood the lights will be in operation for up to two weeks.
The Highway Services are asking members of the public to be patient and to allow a little extra time for your journeys.
