DoI seeks supplier for 'innovative seating solutions' at Ronaldsway

It's hoped replacement seating will enhance comfort and functionality in departure lounge

The Department of Infrastructure is seeking a supplier for replacement seating in the departure lounge at Ronaldsway airport.

It says the lounge is a key area, and with growing passenger numbers it needs to update the space to enhance comfort, functionality and aesthetics.

The department wants expressions of interest from furniture suppliers that can provide innovative seating solutions for those departing the Island at the airport.

It says the goal is to enhance passenger comfort while optimising the space, focussing on efficiency, durability and visual appeal.

It's hoped the replacement seating will be able to include ergonomic designs and be able to be adapted to varying passenger numbers.

The DoI says its vision is to create a modern, welcoming environment that embodies the unique character of the Isle of Man while meeting the diverse needs of all travellers.

It comes after airport bosses confirmed in July that they would be looking to upgrade the departure lounge following concerns over the condition of the facility.

Some passengers had taken to social media to highlight stains and rips on the chairs.

Suppliers can register their interest through the government's procurement portal by 9 December.
