Heavy fines for breaching rules
The Environment Minister says dogs must be kept on leads at the Ayres until at least the end of July.
The rule is enforced to protect ground nesting birds, with fines of up to £2,500 for those failing to comply.
The nature reserve is home to an array of unusual bird species, some of which have seen a decline in numbers on the Island in recent years.
Visitors are asked to observe signage, keep to the main paths and help preserve the Island's environment.
