Glen Falcon and beach currently being trialled

More areas in the Island's capital could be accessible to dogs if a trial due to begin today (12 August) is successful.

Access will be granted for dogs to enter Glen Falcon, and be allowed on the whole of Douglas Beach throughout the year, if the plan is signed off at this afternoon's meeting of Douglas Council.

You can find the council's agenda here.

Councillor Natalie Byron-Teare says the board was originally approached by members of the public asking for dogs to be allowed in all of Douglas' parks and gardens.

Appearing on Mannin Line she said the trial has been limited to one glen for now but that they won't rule out further expansion:

Mrs Byron-Teare also confirmed the rules around ball games in the capital's various squares will also be up for review.
