Summer service possible - but funding still major issue
The horse trams may be on the prom again this summer, but their long term future is still uncertain.
That's the belief of Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne following a meeting of interested parties yesterday (Wed) which has been described as "very productive"
It was attended by Government officials, members of Douglas Council and representatives from Manx National Heritage and Culture Vannin.
Mr Gawne says the group identified the importance of the tram service and that when considered in conjunction with the heritage railways there are clearly strong reasons for its retention
However, a shortage of funding for the horse trams will remain a major issue
