Differing approaches to home education

Headteachers explain remote learning provision

It's been nearly six weeks since schools closed their doors to the majority of students.

Different institutions have been providing resources to families, to assist in home educating their children, in different ways.

Maxim Kelly is headteacher at Laxey and Dhoon primary schools who are operating an optional system using resources which do not require computer access.

He says it’s been important to keep home education flexible:

At King William’s College, a more rigid approach has been opted for.

Students there are required to register each morning, and attend every lesson via Microsoft Teams – a video conferencing platform.
