Second provider considering options for 'more realistic deliverable target'
One Island dental surgery has reduced the amount of work it's doing for Manx Care, while a second could do similar due to recruitment difficulties over the last 12 months.
In its latest board papers, the healthcare provider confirmed one contractor reduced its contract last month, while another is considering options as it seeks a more realistic deliverable target.
However, an additional provider has signed up, and will be accepting new patients in the coming months.
Manx Care's most recent figures show their are 2,638 patients waiting for a dentist.
Practices that aren't able to meet their targets when providing treatment on behalf of Manx Care have to reimburse the health board within the next financial year.
