Equipment not ready for Douglas launch
Plans to implement new 'effortless parking' technology in Douglas have been pushed back.
A ticketless system was due to be installed at two of the car parks operated by Douglas Borough Council today (2 Oct).
However, work will now not commence at the Bottleneck car park on Douglas promenade until October 16th, with the new system coming into effect on October 25th.
The technology works by automatically recognising each vehicle's number plate upon arrival to the car park.
Drivers then enter their registration number on return to their vehicle and pay on exit.
