A section at the Gooseneck was damaged in a vehicle fire
The Mountain Road is going to stay shut between Ramsey and the Bungalow for the rest of today and most of tomorrow.
Part of the carriageway was damaged at the exit of the Gooseneck when a vehicle caught fire yesterday afternoon (Sunday 8 June).
The Department of Infrastructure has been repairing the road, but poor weather's delayed the final surfacing attempts.
It means that section will stay closed until 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 10 June) while the whole Mountain Road is returned to two-way traffic as originally planned.
