Farmers will be required to electronically tag sheep and goats before being sold or slaughtered, if Tynwald approves a proposal later this month.
The Sheep and Goats (Records, Identification and Movement) Order 2015 will be in line with EU rules and will allow customers to know when they're buying Manx produce.
Minister Richard Ronan says it's important people know where the food has come from.
