Help for people wanting to make homes more efficient
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is planning to introduce Green Living Grants to make homes more energy efficient.
Grants, capped at £6,000, will allow people to introduce carbon-reducing measures at 50 per cent of cost.
Some have criticised the move calling for Home Improvement Grants to be reinstated instead to tackle issues such as damp.
Minister Geoffrey Boot says the department is focused on its climate change agenda and such appeals would require wider government support:
