Several gales impacted travel as 2023 came to a close
While it might have seemed that December was one continuous gale, statistics from the Met Office show it was nothing compared to 1959.
In December that year there were approaching twenty gales.
Last month's gales came while many people were travelling for the holidays, impacting several sailings in the process.
