Proposals to develop site off Lezayre Road
A major housing development could be built on the outskirts of Ramsey if planners give the go ahead.
Dandara has submitted proposals to create 166 homes on land at Lower Milntown off Lezayre Road.
It comes after Dandara previously proposed to build 181 homes at the same site in September 2020.
However, several Ramsey commissioners later expressed concerns over the impact the plans could have on the volume of traffic in the area as well as potential crowding of northern schools and hospitals.
The developer says roads in would be connected via Lezayre Road and other pedestrian links would also be created.
They add there would be a mixture of different types of properties with 45 of them being affordable housing units.
A space on the site between the Sulby River and the former railway line would be an open space which could include a children's play area, riverside nature areas and a footpath network.
