
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin is promising to slash through red tape which restricts small businesses.
His department has published a number of statements of intent – pledges which will guide its priorities in coming years.
One area already highlighted is that of government bureaucracy, which Mr Shimmin says needs simplifying and speeding up.
He says there are particular systems he’s going to target:
