Self-funded commercial development proposed
Plans for a cruise terminal and land reclamation in Douglas bay have been created to solve the town's parking problem.
Mark Pearce from Ellis Brown Architects says the concept has 'huge' economic value for the Island's capital.
The plans claim it would be self funded as a commercial development, and include the creation of a new entertainment area, alongside 1,500 car parking spaces.
Mr Pearce says this was the driving force behind the concept:
The Department of Infrastructure says it has no involvement in the plans, but is 'always interested to hear of any proposals for privately funded marine developments'.
