Time to get your spuds out
A chance for amateur growers to show-off the best of their harvest takes place in the west of the Island this evening (Thurs 14th)
The 24th Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Produce Show is at Ballakaighen Farm off the Staarvey Road.
Entries for the show - for classes as diverse as the heaviest turnip through to the best Victoria Sponge made by a man - will be accepted between 9.30 and 11.30 this morning (Thurs)
The event opens to the public at 3pm followed by the weigh-in for the iconic Big Spud competition.
The traditional skills of lanket and suggane making are on display at 7 pm, followed by an auction of the produce, with all proceeds going towards Motor Neurone Disease Association Isle of Man.
