Hopes new funding will bring some back
The head of the Manx Fish Producers' Organisation says crews left the Island's fishing fleet over the summer, as there wasn't enough money to pay them.
It's after markets were devastated by the global pandemic, with fishermen struggling to sell produce at competitive prices.
David Beard hopes a new round of government support will help the industry bring some workers back, with £250,000 provided for the sector:
Smile of Mann programme to start in primary schools next year
Loganair passengers yet to be reunited with bags left in Manchester on Sunday
Government grant partially funded fishing vessel later used for smuggling
CRHS plans are progressing, insists education minister
