Minister brushes off remarks from MHK
An MHK's criticism of the education department's handling of a catchment area issue has been brushed off by the minister.
Graham Cregeen's department recently announced a joint catchment area for Scoill yn Jubilee.
This means parents will be able to choose which Douglas secondary school their child attends if they're starting this year - but from next year, new starters must attend St Ninian’s.
Douglas East member Chris Robertshaw branded the move 'clumsy and insensitive'.
Mr Cregeen rejects that, but does admit his department could have communicated its intentions better:
