Talks on 'pig-butchering' and combatting transnational criminal empires
More than 500 business professionals, regulators and law enforcement officers are attending a conference in Douglas today regarding the targetting of financial crime.
It's taking place at the Villa Marina.
As part of the programme, officers from the United States Treasury will provide an insight into the investigation that led to sweeping sanctions being imposed on members of a transnational criminal empire.
The UK National Crime Agency will also discuss Operation Atlantic which was aimed at combating online investment fraud – commonly referred to as ‘pig butchering’.
