Council wants to engage more with ratepayers

Proposals include debating monthly public questions

That’s the message from the leader of Douglas Council as he bids to ensure councillors engage more closely with ratepayers.

David Christian has set up a working group to assess a range of issues, including low turnouts.

One of his proposals would see members of the public table a question each month and for the issue to be discussed around the council chamber.
