Some individuals seeking compensation
Cleaning up contaminated water supplies in Douglas last month cost Manx Utilities almost £12,000.
The Steam Packet has accepted responsibility for the accident on 7 December, when seawater was pumped back into pipes during maintenance works.
It took a full three days for the situation to be rectified.
Manx Utilities has confirmed it would be seeking to recover costs from the Steam Packet, of which £4,000 was spent on bottled water for affected properties around the quayside in Douglas.
A number of individuals have also sought compensation.
They have been directed to the firm's insurers.
