The chief minister insists support measures announced to help people with the rising cost of living WILL reach those who need it most.
It comes as a price increase of 43.9 percent for Manx Gas customers comes into force from today.
Concerns have been raised that the measures won't reach the "squeezed middle" - those who fall just outside the of eligibility for benefits.
