An inquest has heard how a 71-year-old Onchan man hanged himself in a garage.
Colin Moore's body was found by his wife Karen at their home on Birch Hill Grove in February.
The court heard Mr Moore, a taxi driver, had a history of mental health issues and previously tried to kill himself.
He'd suffered from depression in the 1990s, made worse after the death of his daughter Caroline in 1997.
The hearing was told Mr Moore tried to take his own life that year, but his condition improved and his last contact with the Island's Mental Health Service was in 1998.
He and his wife argued on February 3rd but Coroner of Inquests John Needham said no-one could have forseen what would follow.
Mrs Moore woke up at 11pm and wondered where her husband was - she saw the garage light on, went out and found her husband.
