Passengers face 'inadequate' provision
TravelWatch Isle of Man says proposed plans for the Lord Street bus station in Douglas are 'inadequate'.
It's after a recent publication of artistic impressions of the Lord Street Development.
The passenger watchdog says the proposals don't include a big enough waiting area, and the toilet facilities are inadequate.
It also raises concerns about traffic around Market Hill, which would conflict with the Department of Infrastructure's plans to pedestrianise the road.
However the developers, Kane Limited, have outlined a number of provisions it insists will improve the area.
They include ticket issuing facilities, staffing on site and a dedicated area for bus drivers.
The public has until September 7th to respond to the plans.
