Transferred to Liverpool after treatment at scene
It's been confirmed a competitor was seriously injured in this year's Cyclefest.
In a statement this morning(Fri), organisers say it happened when a rider had an accident halfway along the Mountain Mile during Saturday's Mountain Bike Race.
The cyclist was immediately treated at the scene by the event's medical team, then transferred to Liverpool for further treatment.
No name has been released at this stage.
Last weekend's event saw numerous cycling events including the Battle of Skyhill Mountain bike event and three "Fondo" challenges.
Cyclefest has a dedicated medical team, headed up by Chief Medical Officer for the event, Gareth Davies.
