Report on department will also be looked at
A House of Keys committee will take evidence from teachers, parents and other interested parties over the next three months, on the future of education on the Island.
It follows the successful second reading of the much-discussed new Education Bill.
The committee will also look at the findings of the independent Beaman's review into how the education department interacts with schools.
This report is due to be finished by the end of July.
Speaker Juan Watterson exercised his casting vote after a tied vote on whether to establish the committee, much to the delight of proposer, Onchan MHK Julie Edge:-
