CoMin to draw up policies in response to detailed housing report

Tynwald is expected to receive them by October 2024

The Council of Ministers is expected to formulate new policies in response to forecast housing demand.

Tynwald has approved a document which looks into the Isle of Man's housing requirements from now until 2041.

The Objective Assessment of Housing Need predicts government will fail to meet its target of reaching a 100,000 population by 2037.

Instead it predicts 94,000 by that date and says as many as 10,000 new properties will be needed to house the additional residents.

Douglas East's Joney Faragher suggested the solution to the Isle of Man's housing problems is to simply build more housing.
