CoMin agree for a single central control for all Government land

'Flexible development zones' require change

The Council of Ministers says that "flexible development zones" should be set up in Douglas,  to help promote the development of unoccupied urban sites.

And that a single strategic body should have control of all Government land and buildings.

CoMin, who are picking up on the recommendations of a select committee report, agree that incentives, such as use of the planning system and taxation should be used to discourage greenfield development.

Flexible Development Zones are places where it is seen that there is the potential for future economic and environmental improvement but for that to happen, some level of coordinated change is needed.
