Coastal overtopping amber warning

Damage possible around times of high tide

The Met Office has upgraded it's warning for coastal overtopping today (Tues 27th) to amber from yellow.

The amber warning is for public to be prepared for possible disruption and damage, rather than just be aware of the possibility.

Areas to be affected include Douglas promenade (including walkway parking), Laxey and Ramsey promenades as well as Castletown promenade and parts of Shore Road, Rushen and lower parts of Port St. Mary. This is likely to be at its worst around high tide at just before 2pm today - then again around 2.30am tomorrow (Wed) morning.

The warning is in place from midday Tuesday to 6pm Wednesday.
