Commissioners hope to upgrade space to meet standards
Castletown Commissioners have applied to planners for permission to redevelop the lay-by outside the town hall, allowing room for coaches to park.
The authority wants to upgrade the current space on Farrant's Way so it can 'meet modern standards'.
Plans include moving the kerb-line back, providing space for large vehicles, and giving passengers safe access to the pavement.
If approved, the appearance of the area will also change with the planting of trees, creation of dropped kerbs and other features.
You can view the application online via the government's planning portal (application number 19/00581/B).
