Closing statements in trial of Attorney General

The prosecution and defence will today (Tues) present their closing statements in the trial of the Island’s Attorney General.

Senior prosecutor Peter Wright QC and defence counsel David Farrer QC are due to address the seven-strong jury at Douglas Courthouse.

Fifty-two-year-old Stephen Harding of Glen Vine denies charges of perjury and committing acts against public justice.

Yesterday afternoon, after more than seven days of prosecution witnesses, the defence chose not to present any evidence on behalf of their client.
