DEFA engages private contractors to help with fallen trees

Government has engaged specialist private contractors to help continue the clear-up from Storm Darragh.

Some Manx glens and plantations have been closed since the bad weather hit at the start of December.

The Department for Environment, Food and Agriculture is continuing to tackle fallen trees at popular Island spots; a number of which still remain closed.

DEFA is urging people to plan their visits to beauty spots accordingly and continue to respect closures.

It says it's working hard to clear hazards and restore public access.
