Citywing MD in Blackpool to investigate future of air service

Citywing says customers affected by the closure of Blackpool Airport will be contacted.

It was confirmed last night commercial flights will no longer operate to or from the airport from a week today (15th).

Owner Balfour Beatty said it had not been able to find a buyer for the facility, which has been operating a loss for a number of years.

Citywing MD David Buck is heading to Blackpool this morning to see what can be sorted out.

Mr Buck says it's disappointing news, but he's hoping to be able to restart some sort of service again in the future
