Group keen to help locals instead of 'trying to keep the building from falling down'
A new chapel will enable a church in the south of the Island to work on helping the community instead of trying to keep an old building from falling down.
That's from one of the members of Port Erin Methodist Church after the facility had become too expensive to maintain.
As well as being a place of worship, the new chapel had a number of rooms available for hire by community groups.
After years of renovation works on the old Sunday school site next door, the new chapel hosted its first service at the weekend.
