The East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw has resigned as the Island’s Minister for Policy and Reform – after just under a year in charge.
Mr Robertshaw was appointed head of the newly-created Cabinet Office last April – seen as the man to drive long-term change through the centre of a new look, more efficient Manx government.
However, he has decided to stand down, describing the ‘direction and pace of reform’ as ‘inadequate’.
It’s understood the Council of Ministers will meet this morning (Monday) to discuss its next move.
Mr Robertshaw says a resistance to change means it’s time for him to go.
There will be an interview with Mr Robertshaw on Mandate this morning (Monday).
