All-weather air ambulance training
Manx doctors and nurses have been receiving advanced helicopter training in North Wales.
Almost a dozen staff were taught how to operate the American-made Sikorsky S-92 aircraft in hazardous winds and fog.
The air ambulance service is on call 24 hours a day, and claims to be able to reach the Noble's Hospital helipad within 60 minutes.
Its use is reserved for 'urgent' scenarios only.
Dr Kate Teare says although people 'don't use the emergency helicopter service that often', she and colleagues 'can be sure that the team all know their jobs and can focus on delivering the highest standard of patient care'.
