Progress in next twelve months will be crucial, says MHK
The government's new plan aiming to address challenges around childcare provisions on Island has received support from politicians.
Members of Tynwald have voted in favour of receiving the Childcare Strategy and approving the proposed plan of work set out in it following a motion today from Education, Sport & Culture Minister, Julie Edge.
The document says the overarching vision for the strategy includes making childcare affordable, supporting children with additional or complex needs and ensuring provision meets demand.
Douglas South MHK Sarah Maltby welcomed the strategy, and believes the next twelve months will be vital to getting things moving in the right direction:
Person suffers 'significant injuries' in 'serious assault' near Peel
Business case for horse trams to be put before Tynwald in July
Plans to turn 'underused space' in central Douglas into wellness retreat
Employment grievance 'upheld' against board of Peel Commissioners
