Quayle insists change needed at top
The chief minister says a review of the Island's health service, particularly spending within it, is urgently needed.
There's set to be a debate, and a call for a review, at the January sitting of Tynwald next week (16 January).
At the same sitting, there will be a request for an additional £9.5 million to cover the overspend in health - that's despite the department already having had its budget boosted by £11 million at the start of the current financial year.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle says he knows 'all too well' the financial pressures the DHSC is under year after year:
Person dies following road traffic collision at Hillberry
Contractors to start installing 20mph signs in Douglas and Onchan
Accessible bus stops rolled out across Bus Vannin network
Road closures in place following incident in Hillberry area
