Tynwald backs plan to scrap secret ballot
The way the Island's chief minister is elected will be slightly different from this autumn.
That’s after Tynwald backed a motion by West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas, meaning there will be no secret ballot to elect the leader of government.
Instead, it will be made clear which candidate each politician has voted for.
Voting results of MHKs will also be read out before members of the Legislative Council cast their vote.
