Chief Constable to give evidence at Colby man's trial

Motorist denies driving without due care and attention

The Island’s top police officer is to give evidence as a Colby man fights an allegation of driving without due care and attention.

Forty-four-year-old Charles Edward Omar of Ballacriy Park appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse for a pre-trial review.

He denies driving without due care and attention on 8 May during an incident said to have been witnessed by Chief Constable Gary Roberts.

Magistrates heard three police officers will give evidence at Mr Omar’s trial.

They adjourned the case and Mr Omar, who represented himself in court, is due to appear again on 4 February.
