Island force shocked at death
Chief Constable Gary Roberts says the Manx constabulary shares the grief of colleagues on Merseyside after the killing of an officer this week.
PC David Phillips was killed in Wallasey as he tried to stop a stolen vehicle near Birkenhead’s 12 Quays on Monday.
Mr Roberts says the incident shows the hazards facing police officers as they go about their duties.
