
One of the Island’s most popular woodlands will close from next month to allow what’s described as essential forestry works to take place.
Chibbanagh Plantation, situated on the Cooil Road near to the Braaid, will be shut from the start of December through to the end of February.
Environment officials says it’s for both the safety of the public and the workforce.
They hope to create a new car park and picnic area.
Once the works are completed, felled areas will be restocked with mixed broadleaf species rather than conifers.
