Age Concern hopes to inform residents about support available
A local charity is offering elderly people the chance to connect with support services at an event next week.
Age Concern is bringing government departments, public services and other local organisations together to meet with older residents.
The event on 4 November, at The Empress Hotel in Douglas, hopes to inform and help those who struggle to find support.
Age Concern Isle of Man Chief Executive Maureen Cowbourne and Operations Manager Steve Dawson have been speaking to Manx Radio:
Taking part in the event are the Isle of Man Government's Office of Fair Trading, Isle of Man Fire Safety, Isle of Man Police Community Team, Manx Utilities, the Northern and Southern Wellbeing Groups, Older People's Social Work Team, DHSS, Income Tax Division and Public Health.
They will be joined by local organisations including Kissack Care, Sight Matters, Horizon EMS, the Isle of Man Deaf Society, Barclays Bank, Live at Home, Crossroads, Acorn Stair Lifts, Isle of Man Energy, and the Manx Stroke Foundation.
The event will run from 10-4pm.
